We no longer have Capitalism nor a Representative Democracy in this country, we are a Corporatocracy and our elections are bought and paid for by big money. Trump and his criminal cult want to make the small move from there to total Fascism.
Trump has no redeeming value as either a President or as a human being.
But other than all that, he may be an OK guy.....

Even the person who wrote that article you linked, Funke, pointedly says "It’s not clear what part of that discussion he was characterizing as a "sarcastic question" to reporters." That's polite talk for "the dimwit has no clue and is trying to backpedal."
Nobody is stupid enough to fall for a threadbare commentary written after the disastrous event purely to try and make the asshat look like an intelligent person. Anyone naive enough to seriously believe the post-disaster crap that he was merely being sarcastic should buy this bridge I'm selling.

As for earlier comments here on the context, I have watched the dratted press conference up to the point he made the blooper and it is beyond me how this can be put into context.
