You're just repeating the same old moan.

We are independent and have full control of all our own sovereign territories and seas.
Just because you and some other people do not like what the country is doing with its independence does not mean that it isn't independent.
We are "administering the whole of our territory".
You might not like how, but we are.

Now if you want to take this issue further please start a new thread rather than use your usual tactic of derailing the subject of an existing one.

Do you think it still needs a whole subsection of the forum for that rather than being under (just for example) the Politics & Govt. heading in "Discussions"?
Yes I do .
It stops the other forums getting too polluted with Brexit related issues.
These issues will possibly be with us for decades espesh
if the EU continues its War Games, which I think they will as we extricate ourselves further from EU hegemony.
For example, expect some nasty business and flouting of International rules, laws and agreements when vessels are not legally permitted to fish UK waters

Every election will have the EU grandstanding about how easy it will be for us to rejoin, with promises of free money, a new start, reforms and human rights etc.... all designed to decieve the public into voting for a party that will drag us back in.

Every mistake, failure disaster this country makes will be blamed on Brexit and every success because the EU somewhere, somehow had something to do with it. Unless we leave completely from the TCA, that risk is always there. We should tear it up while we have the chance. Another extension without the EU signing up will mean we will be accused of breaking international law to politically damage the Conservative party and divide the nation once more.

Tear it up and walk away.
Exactly that, l believe this is now the plan of of the "establishment"
I'e. government/ business / most media and anyone with a vested
interest in EU membership ?
They are determined that the one time the people have voted
directly for something and won, then the people shall not get their
way!!
The belittling of fishing as being of no importance financially is
a red herring,( pun unintended) ! It's importance is more symbolic
as a signal that true independence has been achieved by virtue of
the FACT that we do indeed control our own territory !!
The benefits of having a reinvigorated fishing industry on our
coastal communities is only a bonus !!
Any one that can't see the potential of this lacks imagination imo
The 5 year delay in concluding fishing negotiations is a ploy to
gain time for the complete reversal to take place once we have
become even more bored with brexit than we allready are !!
I even believe the recent spate of disturbances witnessed on this
very forum could be associated with this remain agenda despite
the proclaimed allegiance to be otherwise ! IMO!

@Solasch.... if the Brexit deal was better for the EU why are there so many EU tears?
Macron has embarrassed himself with his pesky attempts to punish the UK but has ended up making things worse for Spanish and Polish lorry drivers and EU businesses that export to UK.
The vaccine debacle has been a disaster for the EU and banning vaccine exports to Australia, new lockdowns across the EU, closing the Irish/UK border and riots in Ulster are all a direct result of EU vitriol, anger , incompetence and poor decision making.
Expect more of the same , Solasch, meanwhile the UK will just Keep On Keeping On.
Tears of joy moscow, have you seen any newspaper in europe moaning about those marvelous brits that left us behind? Don't think so.

By the way, the NI protocol is the solution boris chose for the problem caused by brexit. Theresa may may have had a better solution, but that is water under the bridge.

Sorry to say so donks, but it would make discussions livelier if some new arguments would be presented. I know that is hard, with every day new downsides of brexit in the news, and no upsides.
Jacob race smog may be right in that it will take 50 years to recover from brexhit.

Ahem.

"Dear Britain, we envy you".
In Germany's biggest paper no less.
There are more but point made methinks.

Now again if you're going to post in this thread please stay on-topic.

That's the problem AFAIC; the Brexit subforum is full of more repeats than a typical BBC weekend's TV.

BTW the UK is recovering far faster than EU-land and even your own EU forecasts say that the UK will do better than the EU over these coming years - but that debate is for elsewhere and not in this thread so if you want to debate that point further then please do it outside this thread rather than derailing this one.
