Tipping? - bus tours
I tip taxi drivers and tip the drivers that drive you from the lots to the terminals at airports as I know it is expected.
I've taken organized bus tours (to the ball game, theater, shopping to the states, etc) but have never even thought of tipping the driver and/or escort. Last night as I was picking up my daughter & boyfriend as they returned from a bus trip to the zoo (3 hr ride one way), I notice people getting off the bus tipping the driver as they went
. I guess I've never noticed on the trips I've been on, but IS this common practice? I feel bad now that I've never given
. My daughter even questioned if this was expected as she felt 'put on the spot'. She said that there was no 'escort' or hostess on this trip which there usually is, and the driver even made mention of it on the way there. He popped in a movie on their system (disney as there was a variety of ages on the bus), and provided a safe drive there and back (maybe a little fast as I was surprised that they pulled into the lot 15 mins early).
