I very rarely go near any shops, I just can't tolerate crowds anymore so most of my shopping is done online. I wish I wasn't so antisocial as I'd quite enjoy rummaging in a charity shop I think.
I have however donated lots of things to charity shops. When my husband died I went through his clothes and there were loads of brand new jeans still with the labels on so they went to the local charity shop along with a fair few other new or nearly new items. Anything that was unsuitable went in the local clothing bank.
If you go on a weekday morning, they aren't usually all that busy.
I bought a nice framed print for £6 yesterday in a charity shop. I thought I'd research the artist ans was surprised to find the print is still available with the framed price starting at £98
I wanted a painting of Otters. Found a tray for £2 which had a printed painting on it with a textured surface. I reframed it and you would never know the difference... (well you might if you took it to the Antiques Roadshow).
