Judy - the film.

I like the sound of this film about Judy Garland and hope to go and see it with a friend on Wednesday.

Has anybody on here seen it & what did you think?

I'll follow this thread, I'm going to see it with my friend for her birthday next week.

I bet it's going to be good, Rene Zellweger is really good at everything I've ever seen her in, especially Chicago,

Carol, l saw an interview with Renee Zellweger and her co-star. At first, l didn’t recognise Renee as she is so thin now.
She is playing Judy Garland and they showed some clips from the film. I thought it looked good.

It looks as though Zellwegger does a brilliant job and it also stars one of my favourite actresses, Jessie Buckley.

From the clips I've seen, she has Judy's quirky mannerisms down pat.
Renee does a fine job with every part she plays, Jerry Maguire was a favorite of mine.

My wife and a group of her friends - film buffs all - went to see it on the weekend. She said it was excellent and really enjoyed it. It's obviously a quality film and will probably yield an oscar nomination or two and even a win.

Not sure about this one - it is being well advertised though - all over the buses at the moment. Never was a Garland fan. Saw her with James Mason (swoon) in the first remake of "A star is Born" and, apart from the song 'The man who got away' which was good, I found her rather boring.

I thought I was the only one, Tabs.
From what I remember way back, I was never a fan either.
Felt the same about her daughter, too.

Re: Judy - the film.

I've had the loveliest day. The film 'Judy' was brilliant.

I never knew that Judy Garland had such an unhappy childhood and what she had to go through to play 'Dorothy'
She wasn't much happier as an adult either.

The ending was brilliant and brought a tear to my eye - no it wasn't her suicide - It didn't cover that.

I'd just say go and see it.
