Re: Is anyone bothering with the election?

I don't think I'm voting this time. My vote to leave the EU didn't matter so I don't see the point in voting. We aren't in a democracy anymore. All the parties lie and tell us what they think we want to hear.

It really should be made a crime for political parties to lie to the public. They don't carry out what they promise, none of them.

All the more reason for political reform.

Re: Is anyone bothering with the election?

I was talking to my older sis about this yesterday, saying I now have my election card but having lived here only two months I have no idea who the candidates are or what they stand for. But as she put it, vote for the party you prefer, don't waste it.

I'm undecided.

Re: Is anyone bothering with the election?

I'm looking forward to Friday morning. I'm sick of voting for this, voting for that, debate about this, debate about that, he said, she said blah blah blah.

I'm voting for the Tories, having renewed by membership as I do not have a Brexit Party candidate to vote for and even if I did, having listened to Boris Johnson tell us of his determination to get Brexit done, I'm taking a leap of faith in him to get what I voted for over the line. I also do not want to split the vote and let Corbyn in to number 10 - this would be a far bigger disaster for the country than a no-deal Brexit ever could be.

My prediction is that the Tories will win with around 355 seats, but anything can happen in a GE and the polls can never be trusted.

Roll on Friday morning...

I, too, shall be voting Conservative. There is no Brexit Party candidate in my constituency and the only other likely to be elected is a Limp Dem, so I have no better choice.

I am obliged to trust Boris to obtain our freedom from Brussels. However, I cannot be sure. After all, his 'deal' is virtually identical to May's sell-out which was opposed repeatedly in the Commons. Strangely, Boris's deal was quickly accepted. I wonder why.

Boris says nothing other than his intention for us to leave the EU. Could he be lying? We shall soon see.

Re: Is anyone bothering with the election?

Three years ago the british people were asked to vote as to whether we should leave or remain in the EU. The majority voted to leave.
The wishes of the people have been ignored so why should we take for granted any promise made by any of these political vote hunters.

I couldn't agree more Ben, but, there is only the tories that will deliver Brexit and get elected with a majority.

Thats the problem ... so we need to take a leap of faith or have Corbyn and lose Brexit altogether.
