Re: Let's have a laugh
William Peter Blatty, author of The Exorcist has passed away.
Which reminded us of an anecdote regarding the controversial book.
Creative Mischief, by Dave Trott (it’s about advertising)
Trott describes how a colleague commuted from Brighton to London every day and read The Exorcist on the train.
The colleague thought it was the most evil book he had ever read, and admitted he didn’t finish it but instead went to the end of the Brighton Pier and threw it as far as he could into the sea.
Trott continues “So I went to the bookshop, I bought another copy. Then I ran it under the tap…
and left it in his desk drawer.”
