Holidays 2011

Is anyone planning or has planned their holiday for this year yet?

We are considering returning to Dubrovnik again as we enjoyed our holiday there last year so much. We hope to book the same hotel overlooking the sea and Elifiti islands. The spacious balcony with raised flower and shrub beds either side was the ideal place to relax in the warm balmy evenings.

We try to getaway five or six times a year in the caravan. We might start with a week at Sandringham in April, and we are hoping to try Northumbria later on in the summer. Open to suggestions apart from that..

That looks lovely Claire and ideal that it's fenced off for Daisy's safety.

Mags, My holiday jaunts are over, been to everywhere I want to , seen everything that I want to.

Now we just take a couple of days somewhere in this country when we fancy it.

Your picture makes the place look very relaxing, if you go back there enjoy it.

Off up to Scotland - if we can't afford The Rockies the mountains in Scotland are the next best thing - and nearer.

The Scottish Mountains are much nicer than the Rockies Aerolor.

Both are magnificent Mazzie - and as you will know a lot of places in the Canadian Rockies have Scottish names and many Scottish people emigrated to Canada. Given the choice (which is unlikely now) I would choose the Canadian Rockies - the space, beauty and enormity of it all is staggering. I always said that if we could have lived somewhere there instead of in the city I would never have come back.

Re: Holidays 2011

My brother in law and his family moved to Canada many years ago and he would never consider coming back here to live. Its a beautiful country and if I had ever considered moving to another country Canada is certainly the one I'd have chosen, but I'm a bit of a home bird to be honest and never had any notion to move away from Scotland.
