Road works annoy me, especially those - like we drove through today - where there is no work being done and only barriers and traffic lights remain for no apparent reason.

I agree with road works JBR and no common sense is used for instance it's the Otley show today so yesterday they coned off one of the main access roads in preparation for work starting next week......good planning for sure

The creeping road works, anyone noticed that temporary traffic lights used to be deployed when quite rightly, work was being carried out on the main carriageway. Nowadays, lights are deployed when holes are being dug, five metres onto the verge side so the contractors can park their van, and listen to the radio
Then, when the works are complete, because the contractors and traffic management companies are different organizations, the lights remain in place for another week.
