The Flu Jab

I don't know if anyone heard the news today, about this years flu jab? Now they are saying it has only protected 3% of the people who had it.
3% !
So 97% of people who went for the treatment still got the flu.

Did you have the flu jab? Did you get the flu this year?

Re: The Flu Jab

Yes, and yes. Not quite flu but something that completely floored me. And everyone I talk to (including myself) have had recurring infections.

Re: The Flu Jab

My son and I both have the flu jab each year for health reasons. I've never been up or down with the jab, but my son took a bad flu a couple of years ago and ended up with pneumonia. Was in hospital for two weeks, but apparently they said it would have been worse without the jab ?

Re: The Flu Jab

The flu virus mutates and there is no way of predicting when it will happen, so sometimes the vaccine isn't as effective.
I got the flu this year, and I can honestly say it was terrible, it started on Jan 5th and I'm still not really over it. I had a high temperature and pain in my joints, terrible headache and cough and even stomach ache.
I couldn't sleep properly and was just waking and sleeping at all kinds of strange times of the day and night and having nightmares.
I was barely able to wash myself and do my teeth, was so exhausted and the tiredness has been with me since but is now finally getting better.
So next year I am definitely getting the flu jab, OH had it this year and he didn't catch the flu from me so would recommend.
