The feeling was like standing in front of an open fan oven door with a big coat and hat on.
They are still going on and waking me up all the time, worst time is about 20 minutes after I've gone to sleep which happens most nights.
I went through the menopause 4 years ago so was hoping it would stop. They are not every 20 minutes now but still regularly through the day, and if I'm in a warm room it's constant.

If you passed out Julie it's certainly important to mention to your GP. There can be other things going on or you may have an infection you didn't realise was there.
They may do a blood test to see what's happening.

Don't worry about that, it's always worth finding out what's going on in case it's something that needs treating, people go with a broken fingernail!!!

Same as Patsy I still get them occasionally.

That said I would say as with dogs, any change in 'normal behaviour' is worth checking because other conditions can cause similar symptoms. .

Re: Hot flushes ladies ?

If you can take oestrogen it stops them but the problem is that if you haven't had a hysterectomy it means a risk of cancer of the uterus.
I tried the HRT without the oestrogen and it does stop them too but it felt like having permanent bad PMT which was as bad as the HFs.
So it's just hoping that they ease at least a bit but I didn't expect to be going through this for 20 years or more, though I remember my grandmother having a terrible time, Mother had a hysterectomy and so took the combined HRT and when she came off it the HFs stopped in less than a year.

Same here Eliza, going into heated shops in the winter with thick clothes on was a nightmare .I once nearly passed out in Boots in Worcester and they were very good and gave me a chair and some water.
