USA is a democracy and the China is not so I disagree. The USA has an elected president who represents the people, China is a communist country and rules with the same party without the public having any say.

USA has power, CCP takes power.

It's been one of the hardest decisions a Prime Minister has ever had to take; to bring the country to a standstill and risk the collapse of the economy, putting millions of people out of work, some permanently, or allow the virus to spread unabated. I believe Boris and his team have done a sterling job, who else could have done any better?
Well, if you think this is "after the event" then I fear you are sadly mistaken to the point of delusion.

Surely every country has a pre-prepared pandemic plan that they can roll out and act on immediately? they don't have to make it up as they go along. (Having said that I just remembered Brexit)

As for doing it better? New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and even Australia have done it much better so far. It is no good saying they are small countries because they have cities the same size as some of yours with much denser populations.

Of course there is. But someone, convinced of the seriousness of the situation, has to start it up.

All the contradictory speculation is confusing. No experts dare admit they don't know everything about coronavirus, going around in circles because they are under pressure, mostly from media.

I think, it don't matter where stuff comes from, it really matters where stuff is going.

The PM to make announcement at 7pm.

Between a rock and a hard place, DM headlines show the dilemma. When to lift restrictions, what to do to ensure social distancing in workplace, who can probably work mainly from home after this is over.

Take a risk of second wave or be cautious and keep lockdown.
