Shrub/Tree identification

Hi all. I have two very old trees/shrubs in my front yard that appear to a sort of plum based shrub but cannot identify. The drop their leaves in autumn and flower profusely with many small flowers which look like ping brushes. The flowers last for two weeks then drop many very small petals. The fruit is any resembled a very small green with pinkish blush plum. Any ideas

I think it is the wild Bird Cherry. Prunus Avium or another type of prunus usually has a sweet odour

I agree with Azure, some sort of Cherry.

I love this one every year as it is half pink and half white blossom.
You can't see too well in the photo, but the two trees seem to grow out of the same trunk. It's gorgeous when in full bloom.

Hi Azure, yes the flowers are sweet and scented. Unfortunately the trees are old and dying so my thoughts are to strike some cuttings any ideas

That is fascinating. How do you think the two blossom colours are produced?

Do you think it was a grafted tree to produce pink flowers but some of the branches have grown from beneath the graft and reverted to the rootstock type?

Hi, Boot/ Mups. Yes they are spectacular when in flower and as they are very old and getting to their end I would love to strike some cuttings but this could be difficult as new growth is sparse. Any Ideas. Frog*1

Van't really tell without leaves Dave. Looks fruit tree shaped, possibly apple.
