Re: Voting ban for those over retirement age

This can't be a serious suggestion can it?

No voting? Revoke licences?
In other words no say in the future of the country?

I could go for that given the right incentives and let the young un's run the place .... and let them pay for everything (no Income Tax or VAT for oldies).
If they mistakenly believe we're non-contributing 'passengers' they ought to properly treat us as such.

Re: Voting ban for those over retirement age

I'd be quite happy as I have no idea if any party are worth voting for in the next election. I'd like someone to say I can't drive after a certain age as I hate it, they'd have to provide decent transport though, not sack trucks.
It's their future, let them mess it up.

Ha ! There's an old saying:

'a little knowledge, is a dangerous thing'

It possibly best describes those who consider that those over retirement age serve no useful purpose. Eventually they will put us all on the conveyor belt for euthanasia. How else are they going to feed a population of 9.8 billion world wide, and keep the streets clean from pollution ?

That is confusing. If the now ex Labour MP's are Independent, they are surely no longer MP's , unless their constituents vote for them again, as Independent Candidates ? Or is that one of those little loop holes that keeps them safe in a job ?

Wasn't there a fledging nation that proclaimed "No taxation without representation"?

Same applies here, if the `yoof` see no reason why us old fogies (well not me obviously, but you lot ) shouldn't vote, they shouldn't expect any financial contributions either.
