the sad case of Sandra Bland

Sandra Bland has become another 'black' statistic in Texas - I watched this video three times and remained just as disturbed each time. This should have and could have been handled so much better - there are lessons which I am not sure will be learned

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-33627708

is the officer being reasonable ? - is Ms Bland being obnoxious and unlawful ? - whatever the answers she died in custody

We don't know enough about it to judge Gumbud, and maybe that was what was intended.
It APPEARS that the officer gave the woman more than enough warnings but she steadfastly refused to comply. But who knows - only the woman who died, and the policeman.

Yes, I know. That's why I said it APPEARS the officer gave plenty of warnings, but at the moment, the only people who really know would be the woman herself and the police officer. It don't look good though, does it.

the officer was giving plenty of "warnings" of how he couldn't handle a minor infringement correctly. perhaps he had PMT?

Perhaps you're right.

He sure was getting rattled because he didn't get his own way. But I can't see why a woman of such seemingly strong character would hang herself though. There is no doubt a whole lot more to this story yet.

Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

pulling out a tazer and exclaiming " get out of the car or I'm going to light you up" I don't think is standard police procedure.

Earlier news footage showed possible evidence of Ms Bland suffering from depression and possibly PTSS.

Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

I read this article after coming back from the vets in my sons car.
At a big junction and within about 500 yards of each event we
saw a car go sailing past our row of traffic on a bus lane which was
quite clearly marked. Then at a traffic light on a big main road,
a BT van did a U turn which he did by going through a red
light and charging in front of the oncoming traffic.
Boy I am glad he wasn't in the USA if the police have to tazer
you just because you forgot to put a indicator light on to change
lanes. She was in the police station for 3 days WHY.
She didn't show a weapon maybe abit of a challenge but isn't
that what people are like nowadays. Harsh treatment for what
Its about time these USA Police smelt the coffee.

I watched the video of this "state trooper" if thats what you can call him...what a disgrace he is to the police force if this is how he deals with a simple procedure.
Right from the start it appears to me as if he is looking for a confrontation with this poor lady and he is going to make sure he gets it.
It sickens me to watch it !
I sincerely hope the book gets thrown at him.

Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

the case continues - can this happen in UK?

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-33699407

this woman needed help and understanding - all she got was police brutality. that's why social justice groups are always revelent.
