Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

It doesn't take much to hang up a body and make a scene look like suicide. We live in an urban area and there's still a double standard. If I get pulled over it will probably end up with a warning. Driving while black for the same infraction might mean another squad car or two appearing, can you get out of your car...? And maybe 40% of the local police are black themselves.

there was no need to throw the book at him, he was doing his job. She wasn't complying. She killed herself in jail.

this woman needed help and understanding - all she got was police brutality. that's why social justice groups are always revelent.
It happens every day in the UK, and probably all over the world but generally speaking black people are not targeted as they are in the good ole' USA

He should have got ten years jail-time for harassing and assaulting a lady in that manner!

Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

there was nothing brutal about the arrest, he wasn't assaulting her, he wasn't harassing her, she was doing the mouthing off. Quite honestly, I commend our police officers here for what they have to put up with.

How can we possibly pass judgement when all we see is fragments of a video, sufficient cause for concern. I must admit I do not trust the American law enforcement/judgement service, but there must be two sides to this.

Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

of course they obviously didn't show you all the video that we saw !! the officers always have a camcorder running from their car and some I believe have some sort of device on their uniform too. Hopefully all officers will eventually get them.
Only recently a police officer was pistol whipped with his own gun. That is some thug had got hold of the gun and just pummeled the officer who of course was badly injured. They caught the thug thank goodness.

The Cop dragged her out of her car and away from the car cam.
He knew exactly what he was doing !

Re: the sad case of Sandra Bland

Gumbud - my husband wore a uniform - didn't make him brutal. He was proud to wear the uniform of the United States 82nd Airborne Division. Wasn't a police officer but all the same he wore a uniform.
Would you rather you not have police officers, or military, or firemen that go in harms way every day to protect you ? then when something happens they are always in line of them doing the wrong thing.
