I wonder whether Russia, China, North Korea do it better. We hear of political murders in some countries??

I was amazed to read that recently one of the hereditaries has died and that there is some sort of election amongst the nation's hereditary peers for another lord to replace him. I had thought that when the Lords were reformed that the idea was that the quota of hereditary left with seats would gradually die off and not be replaced. The existence of any hereditary peers with seats in the legislature is an affront to democracy! The whole place requires reform.
