Totally agree and then some!

But the root cause is that they live in a totally different world than unbelievers. Different in EVERY way. Although on the surface and in a casual social way this isn't obvious once you go beneath that level worlds and everything splits.

Re: Terrorist Attack

It seems to me that Muslims only respect raw, brutal power. They don't have the faintest idea of what democracy is all about. The only thing they know is the power of the sword in the hands of a "strongman".

The Russians understand this and they react to terrorism ….tit-for-tat. I seem to recall that decades ago, terrorists kidnapped some Russian diplomats (somewhere in the middle-east ?). The Russians, in turn, kidnapped one of the terrorist leaders, cut off all of his privates, stuffed them in his mouth, and dumped the body in front of his home. No more Russians were bothered after that. A lesson to be learned ???

Re: Terrorist Attack

Do you remember that after the revolution that deposed the Shah in Iran they held the US embassy as hostages?

Apparently the next day they got a phone call -

Hello, this is the Soviet Foreign Minister here. Hows's your revolution going?
Well?....Oh good, glad to hear it...... Oh, by the way......if there are any incidents at the Soviet Embassy, next day Tehran doesn't exist

And do you know what? There never were any problems

When we worked in Saudi Arabia it seemed that every single indigenous person was a staunch muslim.
Then, when you looked around, it occurred to us that there may be some, perhaps many, who behaved in that way not because they were strong religious believers, but because they were afraid of being thought by others not to be.

When the 'call to prayer' sounded, all shops and restaurants closed down even when customers were still inside eating.
I'd hate to be a Saudi.

You can understand why the (supposedly religious) rich ones spend much of their time in Londonistan living like the other half don't!
