Ridiculous !! What a waste of money, he should be allowed to reap what he has sown, if he's in fear of his life then he should pay his own security bill !! That or do us all a favour and stay indoors - forever !!!

The taxpayer provides security to all ex Prime Ministers as well as the current PM.

This is not unusual, many Countries do.

What is unusual is the amount of money that it costs to protect Blair due to his extensive trips abroad, which are for his business dealings.

There should be a limit on the amount we spend and he should fund the rest himself.

His costs are far more than the costs for John Major and Gordon Brown.
