How can there be a bond she left him in the hospital for adoption at birth?
He didn't know anything until years after his adopted mother died leaving him an envelope with his birth details.

there's a bond between mother and baby before birth, a baby seperated from its mother feels that trauma of separation, so there is a bond.

Have you never encountered people looking for their birth mothers? or even for anyone remotely connected with their birth mothers? even quite elderly people who say they were quite happily adopted.

Yes people look for their birth mothers .
Doesn't mean they have a mystical bond with them especially if they only ever gave birth and had no other imput into being a mother .
Curiously is natural but let's not make more of it than it is in this case .
The man finds himself 40 years on the son of a woman who was the victim in a notorious murder case .
It doesn't IMO suddenly engender feelings of a mother son relationship that was never there.
