Have you picked your funeral music?

I know this may be sad, but as an avid music lover, i have already picked the 4 songs to be played before, during and after my funeral.........lol......they are as follows

forever Autumn

Knights in white satin

Bitter Sweet Symphony

welcome to the black parade

Re: Have you picked your funeral music?

Probably nothing, we can have music in our meeting house but I actually enjoy most the silent times and our elders have said that is fine if it's what we want.

Love music in life but I am finding silence enough.

Might change my mind nearer the time but at the moment silence is golden.

Funnily enough I'm not in the least bit interested in the arrangements for my funeral, I'll leave that to those left behind.

Re: Have you picked your funeral music?

I am actually not having a funeral - but - if I were I would chose this:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtihI7aDgS4

It is, in my opinion, a lovely description of death. In case you cannot hear the words clearly here they are:-

Day is ended, dim my eyes,
but journey long before me lies.
Farewell, friends! I hear the call.
The ship's beside the stony wall.
Foam is white and waves are grey;
beyond the sunset leads my way.
Foam is salt, the wind is free;
I hear the rising of the Sea.

Farewell, friends! The sails are set,
the wind is east, the moorings fret.
Shadows long before me lie,
beneath the ever-bending sky,
but islands lie behind the Sun
that I shall raise ere all is done;
lands there are to west of West,
where night is quiet and sleep is rest.

Guided by the Lonely Star,
beyond the utmost harbour-bar,
I'll find the havens fair and free,
and beaches of the Starlit Sea.
Ship, my ship! I seek the West,
and fields and mountains ever blest.
Farewell to Middle-earth at last.
I see the Star above my mast!

Re: Have you picked your funeral music?

I am not having a funeral. If I have my way I will just be taken in my wicker basket to my resting place in the fields with as little fuss as possible
