Trying to get the Irish on same page

The Irish PM throughout the brexit negotiations has done nothing other than prove to the world how thick he is ... what is that saying about better to keep your mouth shut and let others think you are an idiot than to open it and prove them right !

Now we have the deputy idiot opening his mouth .

The fact brexit will hit Ireland harder than ourselves whatever the outcome , the fact we are their largest customer , the fact anything and EVERYTHING bought or sold in Ireland comes through England on English roads seems lost on these pair just when Ireland could actually do with intelligence at the helm one could cry for them .

Irish deputy PM warns EU will NEVER let the UK ditch the backstop
https://mol.im/a/6637323

Mr Coveney said even if member states agreed to abandon the mechanism for guaranteeing there will not be a hard border between Northern Ireland and the Republic, MEPs would veto it.
But Health Secretary Matt Hancock accused him of negotiating tactics - pointing out that a no deal outcome would be the biggest risk of creating a hard border.

What he wanted to say is YOU THE IRISH AND THE EU ARE CAUSING THE HARD BORDER YOURSELVES AND NO DEAL WILL BY YOUR RULES MEAN A BORDER YOU IRISH TWIT !!!!
So face facts and stop trying to hold the Northern Ireland agreement as a sword to stop us leaving as in reality the English the Scottish the welsh ... everyone is sick to death of the Irish being a problem because YOU can’t live together like civilised people ..... grow up paddy and get a life the lot of you !

This was their response at brexit last year ... talk about shoot your self in the head !!!

More and more it seems that the Irish split prevents the exit of the UK.

The thing you are forgetting, is that the Irish PM is using Brexit to further his own cause - a United Ireland , and the DUP are fighting it tooth and nail

None of the border issue is really anything to do with Brexit what so ever for us here, its about an all Ireland

The irish may have an ulterior motive, but for the UK it still results in thwarting the brexit.

Any dirty trick to stop the process.

A bi partisan deal between Labour and the Conservatives could solve the problem in an instant - cede Northern Ireland to Eire and it becomes someone else's problem. Quick vote in the Commons - job done.

Won't happen of course.

You could just as well suggest te british army conquer the irish republic. Same result, namely total war.

Surely the Irish border is a trade issue? This should never have been discussed as part of the 'leave' agreement . It is blatant EU tactics to get the upper hand in the upper hand in the next step. It does not belong in the divorce doc.

That's probably the easier solution.

However, for the UK not invading ,any republican uprising will have to be suppressed by the EU Army on the Eire side so I suggest we keep the army in it's bases and let the Irish turn on itself.

But , seriously, the backstop is a poorly disguised ruse to eventually pave the way for Eire to take over N I.

It's what the EU have secretely promised Eire which is why they are going against common sense and prepared to ruin their economy with EU backing.
