Mother's wheelchair stays out in the hall
Why should she go out when the TV's on?
Whatever moves beyond these walls
She'll know the facts when Sunday comes along

Satellite's gone way up to Mars
Soon it'll be filled with parkin' cars
I watched it for a little while
I love to watch things on TV

I bought a bourgeois house in the Hollywood hills
With a trunkload of hundred thousand dollar bills
Man came by to hook up my cable TV
We settled in for the night my baby and me
We switched 'round and 'round 'til half-past down
There was fifty-seven channels and nothin' on

Just a thought here.. should the outcry work and the tv licence stays free for over 75, will that give the Gov a valid excuse to try and get rid of our bus passes as getting two things for free may go against public generosity

Who knows with our lot?

Our governments love to 'Lead the World' whilst ignoring their own.

Agreed about governments skewed thinking. Where as the TV licence is free bus companies do recieve 50p for each time pensioners use their bus passes but that does not seem enough incentive for them and they have been moaning for years now to bring in a charge instead.

I just can't see the bods in charge letting us have two thing for free now.

I don't think the bus pass has the same value in that many OAPs use it rarely, if at all. The ones that do use it a lot (myself inc.) would not bother with most of the bus rides if we had to pay. We use it outside of rush hour because that's a more pleasant time to travel so we're not causing a hindrance.

Free prescriptions on the other hand .....

Signed it. and every other petition regarding this that is doing the rounds.

I'm absolutely disgusted with both the Government and the BBC. The government for making the biased BBC an offshoot by doing a deal and giving them full responsibility for the cost of TV Licensing for the over 75's.
And especially for the BBC because according to Theresa May, Tony Hall stated publicly at the time that the BBC had gotten a really good agreement from the Government when the deal was concluded.

Now, after 3 years and 2 hikes in the cost of the License Fee by everyone to obviously cover the extra cost of subsidising the over 75's, the BBC has reneged on their side of the deal.

Absolutely disgusted with both.
