W10 update query - Help

I am trying to update W10 to my Lenovo Ideaspad 310

but something is not compatible, so

I see this ... https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ain-versions-o

I click the link and get this ... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...ace-and-Driver

Problem is I don't know which to choose. I've got 64 bit Intel Core i5 7th Gen

Thanks in advance

Re: W10 update query - Help

The advice at downloadcenter.intel.com is to refer to the computer manufacturer:

Note: Intel recommends that end users utilize driver updates provided by their system manufacturer/provider or via Windows Update to eliminate the potential impact caused by loading non-customized drivers. System manufacturers regularly customize Intel generic drivers to meet the needs of their specific system design. In such cases, use of the Intel generic driver update is not recommended.

Lenovo's downloads may be OK, but I would check with them before committing yourself - use the Contact Us link.

Ah thanks for that Omah.

That's an interesting way of looking at it.

I've got a Lenovo health check tool thingy installed, not touched it in about 12 months, I'll look at that, do the scans, see if they suggest any drivers or whatever needs installing.

I'll let you know.

I've just had a browse around the Lenovo website and it seems well-geared to updating all aspects of their hardware/software - once you've done your health check you should check it out:

Hi Omah/anyone! Help!

So I've looked at this & that, gone round in circles, back to this page: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...ace-and-Driver

where it says:

Choose the application that makes the most sense for your intended usage and configuration.
Russian roulette. So I chose: f6flpy-x64.zip

Downloaded to my Downloads folder so I double clicked (no unzipping required nowadays?) and there are 9 items/files.

What am I supposed to do with it/them?

My best advice is, again, that you should contact Lenovo:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/gb/en/

They will have email support and, possibly, a chat facility .....

This might be out of the ball park and nothing to do with your problem.

Are you using W10 S?

If so get rid of the S mode.

Just brought a new lap top with this thing on it.

Spent three days trying to remove it and got a message say "You are not connected to the internet"

Had to take it back to get it removed(A long story)

Took her 20 mins to remove it she was knocked back twice.

this vid makes it look simple
