Re: Respect the remain vote????
39% of the electorate voted Leave. While 51% might be good enough for a non-binding, indicative referendum which was never legally binding whatever Cameron might have said, it hardly applies to the aftermath. That should take into account the whole electorate, 61% of which never voted leave, otherwise the majority are being dragged by a minority in a direction they do not want to go. After three years of deaths and comings fo age, that is probably an even bigger discrepancy. So, where is the real democracy? That is, as opposed to the sectarian, self-serving, uncomprehending, blinkered, xenophobic bo****ks that passes for it in the day to day, brexit obsessed media?Re: Respect the remain vote????
Re: Respect the remain vote????
I think we should respect everyone's referendum vote. We did just that and carried out the wishes of the majority in the first EU referendum in 1975 when we were given a choice to leave or remain. Likewise in other referendums eg those concerning Welsh and Scottish devolution and of course the Scottish Independence referendum so why should this last one be any different.Re: Respect the remain vote????
