Then there is the issue of the carte vitale (card to obtain free medical care) and the way the exchange rate impacts sterling salaries, savings or pensions. Pensioners are heading back because the S1 may be taken away and/or because their pensions have effectively been reduced by 30%. If the pound falls further with a no deal exit expect more to give up life in Spain or France.
So plenty of problems and worries.

The problem is that Boris cannot define what those alternative arrangements are and how they would work.

The guy is an imbecile and an embarrassment to our country

Yes he can - it's up to the EU if they want to accept them

Re: The People Versus Parliament.

Hi

When we leave the EU we go to WTO Rules, and they are rules, we cannot do what we want, neither can the EU.

Present systems are set up for container trade, weeks at sea, plenty of time to do the paperwork, pay Tariffs etc.

Any that need to be checked do not cause a problem, containers can be stored on site at the port of arrival and checked.

This is very different with the Channel Ports, which are RoRo

There is currently no need to check as we are in the Single Market

Such systems simply do not exist at the present time and we will also need hundreds more staff.

Nothing is impossible given the time and the money.

We simply do not have the time.

WTO Rules require a Border and checks in the absence of a FTA.

There are a lot of roro vehicles coming through Calais as well that are not in the single market.

They pass through easily enough

Hi

Nope, wrong again.

They are checked and duty paid at the place of entry into the EU, not at the Channel Ports.

Brexit Day it becomes our job.

That is why the Government are seeking to appoint hundreds more staff.

No they don't it's done on line.

There are also trusted trader programs and the Approved Economic Operator system that virtually eliminates the checks.

Here.... read this then look up AEO and trusted trader status.
