Re: Fire bowls

When we used to go to Cornwall on holiday, we used to meet up with other families that we knew from previous holidays and have a barbecue.
After, we would all sit outside drinking the wine we had made, until late at night. One of the couples always brought a fire bowl and huge flare things that they stuck in the ground.
We had really lovely family evenings.

Re: Fire bowls

We are on medieval capms regularly, so we use it to cook our food and to keep warm, when the evenings start to get colder.

Pity I cant include a picture...

Re: Fire bowls

I am not a fan, my daughter and her husband love them but personally I don't like the smoke or the smell. On winter nights I don't want to sit outside in the cold and in summer I can't see the point of them. Not to mention collecting all that fuel for them.

You get a lot at camp sites particularly out in the bush and I do go and have a beer round the fire with people in the evening but I try to sit up wind of the damn things.

I love my barbie but the fires? not for me

Ditto. We have a chimnea down on the terrace, but it is rarely used as we usually sip our G&T's on the deck. And as someone else said, if it get's so much cooler it needs to be used, yours truly prefers to be snuggled up on the sofa indoors.

Ours is like many of those electrical items consigned to the back of the kitchen cupboard. Seemed a good idea at the time but never used. I may use it next year as a planter.
