Re: Best Marigold Hotel

Bought it and Skyfall at the same time on DVD. It was a delight, great set of actors in a gentle comedy. Skyfall fell well below the hype.

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

To me Best Marigold Hotel had the loveliest group of actors and obviously a very good writer. It was delicious

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

I've been twice to India and absolutely loved the chaotic and noisy street scenes. I felt so nostalgic.

I can imagine, eccles did you live in India or just visit, I can't imagine living in such chaos but for a few weeks it would be amazing.

I spent 6 months in India in the early 70s but have never been back. What a wonderful place it was too - agree with you.

As for the film I saw it recently and enjoyed it but I wouldn't rave about it, it was well made film that held your attention - but then very few movies do more than that.

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

We holidayed there twice, some years ago. Visited Goa and Mumbai, which is unbelievably chaotic, noisy and exciting. I wrote a long article about the holiday if anyone is interested, but not sure how or where to post it! I'd love to go back.

Re: Best Marigold Hotel

I certainly would be interested as India is a place I have always wanted to visit. My children's dad came from the Island of St Vincent and only recently has anyone looked into the past of the Indian Vincentians obviously they all originated from India and it would be fantastic for my son and his daughter to become aquainted with a little bit of their ancestory.
