Re: Test and Trace failed to reach 30,000 people who tested positive for coronavirus
Hmmm.
I don't suppose that the reason T & T do so poorly is that people just don't care and will not use the service or comply?
Loads of people nowadays won't answer their phone if it's a number they don't recognize and certainly there is a huge number that don't have the app.
In light of that I have to be honest & say I'm amazed that T & T manage to contact even half of the contacts they're given.

Looking further into this and I note that the figures touted by Omah are misleading: the figure given is for those contacted by phone only.
Here's a breakdown from 17th to 23rd December:
211,914 people were transferred to the contact tracing system of which 181,910 (85.8%) were reached, 27,178 (12.8%) were not reached and 2,826 (1.3%) had not provided communication details.
"
Since Test and Trace launched, 85.0% of all cases have been reached."
85% success rate is surely pretty good by anybody's standards?

Somebody seems to be trying to manufacture a story where there really isn't one that is worthy of the hype they try to give it.
You don't believe me?
Look at the official stats as above.
"
Close contacts identified by NHS Test and Trace
Between 17 December and 23 December, 407,603 people were identified as recent close contacts, of which 377,459 (92.6%) were reached and told to self-isolate and 30,144 (7.4%) were not reached. Considering only the contacts where communication details were provided, 96.4% were reached and told to self-isolate in the most recent week. This has remained constant for the past two weeks.
Since Test and Trace launched 84.7% of close contacts for whom contact details were provided have been reached."
Do you see that?
96.4% were reached!
An increase from the average of 84.7%, so why the grumbling and groaning?
