Re: Pond Removal

Another update:

Got the little taddies a new home

I bought a cheap storage container. Hopefully if any survive, there's more room for them to swim around when they wake up, instead of going around in circles in a round bucket.

Fingers crossed they make it!

Too many trees and being low down, plus clay in the soil.
I feel for you. Our house and garden, too, are built on clay. Thick, solid clay. Fortunately, some things seem to like growing in it, but whenever we have heavy rain, the garden, lawn, the lot turn into a bog!

Quite right. Instead of swimming round in circles, they can do some lengths and breadths!

Sorry. Joking. Yes, I'm sure that many of them will survive, but also many will not. That's nature.

It's strange the soil here, the clay isn't that solid near the surface, ie I have to dig a way to get the clay, but the lawn is dreadful. I would imagine the clay's at the top ie just under the grass. It's not water logged as in standing water, but constantly damp and full of fungi.
Not good when one is sensitive to moulds and fungussy things

Don't apologise for joking JB, it made me titter imagining the taddies doing lengths and breadths ...

Yes, I know they won't all survive, just as long as some do

That looks much better than a bucket, Pesta.
Don't forget any little frogs will need something to climb on to have a rest from swimming.

Hope some survive, and well done for trying to save them.

It's well known fact that plenty do not survive.
