Netherlands waiting to see how Brexit Goes.

The Guardian (yes, I know!) is reporting a big shift, politically, away from the EU following recent elections.

The Dutch have always had a preponderance to ultra right-wing political parties ever since WW2. Many of the Dutch volunteered for service in the Waffen SS.

They have bigger problems than us leaving IMO many countries are starting to wonder what they get out of membership. We all pay in some of us vast amounts then the eu give us some back and tell us how to spend it. When did that ever seem like a good idea ? Don't all countries have a better idea what they need and want than some faceless bureaucrats ?

For a country to be in balance, right and left have to compensate each other. We have always had more far left (four parties left of the centre) than far right. Only one party right, Rutte's VVD, comparable to your tories. When geert wilders entered the political arena many left rutte's party to join wilders more right wing party. Strangely, a lot of wilders voters came from previous socialist party voters. Showing that stupidity was also equally divided over political left and right.
Yesterday another right wing party entered 3 of the 12 provincial assemblies. They did at the cost of geert wilders followers.

UJ, question, is in the UK far left mixed in labour, and far right in the tories? Or have they started parties for their political views? And do you only have extreme left, and no ultra right?

There are a number of 'far left' organisations (I won't say parties, because they are not necessarily registered as such. There are some 'socialist' members in the Labour party too.

As for the far right' there is the BNP - a Nazi party, UKIP, a neo-nazi party and some elements inside the scumbag 'nasty party'.

UJ until now I assumed your historical knowledge accurate. We had our first shock of right wing entering with geert wilders party in 2006. The UK has that political side represented since 1993 with Ukip.
Concerning right wing the UK is in the lead.

No, wrong again, your youth obviously betrays you. There was a dutch 'Nazi' party' long before and during WW2.

The UK also had its own version with the British Union of Fascists led by Oswald Mosley.

You refer to the nsb, a shaming part of our national history. It may be my lack of understanding, but I read "ever since wwII", as meaning after.
After wwII any reference in politics to political right was met with disapproval from everybody. Even the VVD (rutte's party) which was ultra conservative, was very careful not to utter too far right ideas. Hence the shock from geert wilders (former VVD member) who openly declared being right wing. At first he was condemned by other parties as being nazistic, until it became clear that an unsuspected number of people agreed with him. One of his political issues was leaving the EU.

We owe it to the UK that one of wilders most important slogans (leave the EU) has been shown to be a disaster. The consequence is that people assume him to be wrong on other issues too, and his following is diminishing. Over the ruins of wilders another fraud is climbing to fame.
