Re: How many miles have you done in Lockdown?

I normally manage around 1000 a year in my runabout Jeep, and we do around 5000 in the car including holidays and visiting friends and relatives, so I guess that must be down to around 3000 now over the past year...

Re: How many miles have you done in Lockdown?

During the first lockdown the car was used only for getting to the shops for food etc. The regulations didn't allow leisure use so mileage was very low, around 1,000 miles if that.

By the time the second lockdown happened I was almost 'round the twist', living on my own in the same house day in and day out, seeing and speaking to nobody. The car was then used more regularly just to get out of the four walls, I believe it's called 'cabin fever'! Probably every other day I would drive somewhere and either have a short walk, weather permitting, or just find somewhere interesting to sit in the car looking at the scenery.

I retired for a quieter life here 'in the rural sticks', since mid-February 2020 though it's been ridiculously quiet!

The mileage during that second lockdown was more than my average anyway as I don't do anywhere near the mileage I used to. About 5,000 miles during that time plus 1,000 miles previously, so a total of about 6,000 miles, 2,000 more than in a usual year.

Had I not done that I know the 'men in white coats' would have been knocking at the door!

I have no idea I don't keep track of mileage these days. More by foot than car that's for sure

Meg, I suppose, you could look at the mileage stated on this year’s and last year’s MOT certificate?

I don’t know how many miles my car has done this year but l could gauge it on how much petrol l have put in it, if l looked on my bank statements.

Less than 100. The car has only been used to get to medical appointments that are only a few miles away at most. The odd drive around the local streets just to start and run the car to make sure it still goes.

Hi

My Google time line for last month shows a total of 45 miles.

It works on your phone location, so 4 journeys where in an ambulance, so actual driving was much less.

I've only done about 3,000 miles since the last m.o.t. Next m.o.t. is due some time in August.

A lot more than usual. My mother died last February so I was up and down to Merseyside getting the house ready for sale.

Re: How many miles have you done in Lockdown?

From January 2020 to January 2021 I did about 3000 miles - over 5000 in the previous year. I'm guessing the savings were throughout the period of the first lockdown, when we hardly left the house, had all groceries delivered. The only journeys I made were to deliver essential things to my daughter, a couple of miles away (she doesn't drive). Any visits to the doctor or pharmacy were on foot.
