Can just picture that with a large glass of red. Pity you don't have a bar in hospitals. I'm sure it would cheer everyone up no end.

Re: I've had my chest x-ray

Well, I almost walked out of the hospital last night.
They awoke me at 10:15pm to tell me I was moving to a 4 man bay as my room was needed by someone who was badly ill.

"How come the day staff didn't tell me?", `I asked. Apparently they did according to the night-staff but no-one diid or I wouldn't have gone to bed. `cue a big stand-off where I threatened to leave for good right there and then. "You can't leave, you're sick" they said. "Watch me", I said. So I poacked all my bags.

The charge nurse wasn't happy because this was on her watch and it was, by now approaching 11:30.

Eventually a night-doctor persuaded me to stay but I hate moving rooms, particularly when I've got my own room and it took long enough to get it. I did leave the hospital at 7:30 this morning, though - I just want to spend a few hours at home.

If I had been suffering from anything but cancer I would have left for good last night, waking me up to tell me I have to change rooms is not good.

Ffosse, you have to consider others in hospital. Someone needed that room and it's not sensible to create a fuss. You need treatment so try to see it through, you'll be back home soon enough. Take care.

That some-one could have gone into a 4 man bay, why should it be me? I've been moved around often enough before but not when I was already asleep.

You said that the person who needed the private room was badly ill. It's best not to question their decisions but a shame they woke you up but things do happen in hospital.

My husband was in A & E for about eight hours and told that there were two seriously ill patients but only one bed available. My husband was the one who was given that bed in HDU. I felt so sorry for the other person but appreciate that the hospital was facing a dilemma.

Try to be patient Ffosse you'll soon be back in the privacy of your own home.

They may have had someone with an infection who needs to be in isolation so it doesn't spread. Hope you are setting into the new room.
