I'm a confirmed white bread addict.

Anyone else?
Linda I make some of my bread with half strong white flour half wholemeal and it has a lovely taste.

I also flavour some of my bread with finely chopped olives or sun dried tomatoes , it is delicious

Nom you can still get that taste if you make your own bread using a good quality organic Strong Wholemeal Bread Flour like Marriages or Doves Farm . Most organic shops sell it along with fresh yeast.

I too eat wholemeal bread because it is good for me. Don't like most white breads find them too claggy. I much prefer a seeded loaf.

We eat mainly wholemeal bread but I do buy 50/50 bread occasionally as I dislike wholemead bread toasted.

I am left wondering why you cant buy these tasty loaves anymore, even the expensive ones ive tried have better texture butt still lack that flavour i remember.

For convenience I buy 50/50. When I `home bake` it`s 2 parts strong white to 1 part strong wholemeal. It does need a hefty kneading and a good rise to get a decent texture but it is rewarding.

I'm beginning to think I'm the only one left on the planet that loves white bread

See, I've done the half & half thing before too and I still don't like it. The wholemeal taste overpowers the white, so to me there's no difference in taste between 100% wholemeal or 50% wholemeal and 50% white flour.
