Please put on Half way to paradise then I can go back 50 years and remember those days

I believe he had a weak heart and was not a healthy young man

Re: Billy Fury.

Real name Ronald Wycherley......I can understand why he changed if. I didn't realise he wrote quite a lot of his songs. He died too young didn't he....he would have been 80 this year if he was still around.

It seems that there are very few videos of this on You Tube, it's also listed 'Subscribe' (£s I expect) so the link below is all I can find, click on that and you can hear it plus some poor quality video, followed by more of his songs:

Me as well along with Marty Wilde Adam Faith and a couple of American singers from the late 50s

He had contracted Scarlet Fever as a child which weakened his heart.

Died at 42.

Re: Billy Fury.

On 10 April 1983, a tribute concert for Billy was held at the Beck Theatre in Hayes, Middlesex. All the artists performed for free and the money raised was donated to the Billy Fury memorial fund for research into heart disease. On the bill were such names as Marty Wilde with his daughter Kim Wilde, Joe Brown, Alvin Stardust, Dave Berry, Helen Shapiro, and John Miles.
