We ignore all e-mails and phone calls of that nature.

They are getting clever with these scams....what do the achieve spreading viruses? Is it just to be nasty? I don't understand their motivation.

Re: I received an email this morning

Agree agree agree. Ignore anything that you don't know..emails, phone calls, text messages. If it's bona fide you'll get a letter in the post with an address. No physical address - no response. End of story. If it feels dodgy..99% chance it is. THere are entire countries devoted to scams. After porn I think it's the biggest part of the world communication network. NOBODY who is on the level will ring you out of the blue and tell you you have problems with your computer. Or tell you you have "Lots of error on your computer"..or.."This is microsoft/ Apple/ Windows blah blah tech department etc" They want access to your computer so they can plant malware or worse. NEVER EVER give anybody remote access to your computer over the phone regardless of who they say they are.

Few of my business and personal communications nowadays involve letter post communication - AFAIK, addressed letter mailings are falling by over 5% a year .....

Absolutely. I have my landline phone switched to auto answer most of the time because 99% (popular figure that! ) of calls are either telemarketing or scams. And they NEVER leave a message.

Yeah but if somebody can't get you by phone or email, and it's on the level, like the tax department or other government agencies, your doctor, lawyer etc. You should still get a letter. And personal stuff?..Well they would leave a message yeah? I still get plenty of letters. Because I demand them. They are solid proof of things.
