Yeah, I know orangutan.

Kinda hard when I think back to the last two jobs that I lost though.

They're not supposed to use disability as an excuse but they do.

There was a lad at Sainsburys locally that I knew who looked after the trolley and baskets.

I found out today that they made him redundant a month ago as part of their cost-cutting.

Other staff now have to do his job so the job wasn't actually done away with.

He's Downs Syndrome so his chances of getting another job are similar to mine and we had a lot in common too; he got treated like an idiot just as I do. stevmk2

Re: Angry & Confused!

Oh Steve I do sympathise it's quite heart breaking the mistakes that are made and covered up, I know about working with disability too have to deny anything is wrong with me or I would never get a job that has ended 3 times with me being sacked for being drunk but I don't drink the shakes and falls are down to the MS.

Re: Angry & Confused!

I forgot to add last week that I am also waiting for an appointment to see an ENT Specialist.

The Doctor I saw on Friday said she was amazed that I'd not been referred to one long ago as bacteria in the middle ear can cause all sorts of problems she said.

I know that now but I didn't know this in the early 90s when I was first told my hearing was about the same as the average 70-year-old by MK Audiology - that's all they said at the time.

It's all academic now really though as I'm still deaf and it's all just too late for me. stevmk2

Never give up the implants may be a huge improvement for you and it's not too late for that at all.

Re: Angry & Confused!

I'm really fed-up.

I finished the latest course of antibiotic pills on Wednesday night and on Thursday evening I experienced the popping sensation again, complete with the 50% reduction of hearing in my left ear just before going to bed.

Yesterday it was fine until mid-afternoon when it came back again but this morning it's back to permanent popping with the hearing coming and going so much I can't concentrate.

I simply do not believe this is happening again!

I was told that the antibiotics I was given were very strong and would definitely clear any infection.

That may be true, but this side effect is just as bad and again indicates a middle-ear problem.

I'd go to A&E but this needs specialist input. stevmk2

Re: Angry & Confused!

Could A and E not send you to the appropriate department ? I know when I went second time with allergic reaction they brought down the allergist to see me to try to get to the cause.

What'll happen Julie is there'll be a near four-hour wait during which time I'll see a Triage Nurse, probably twenty minutes in.

There would be several points of input, most disagreeing with each other and the end result would be me given weaker antibiotics just to cover their arses in case they make a mistake and a recommendation that I see my GP ASAP.

What I'll do is save the NHS the bloody hassle and expense and book an appointment with a GP - any bloody GP, as it doesn't seem to matter - and I'll have a rant at whoever I get to see. stevmk2

I know how you feel it's so hard accessing NHS services sometimes, and you are experiencing that now.

A GP is the NHS... unless you are thinking of going private?

Any GP will have access to your notes.

I meant the hospital Pats - sorry if that wasn't clear.

Still angry but noticing a bit less "popping" this morning - I really hope it's going!

I have constant tinnitus Pats and, when I get stressed, it gets worse so this popping is just about tipping me over the edge; I'm trying not to go down the dark ladder if you know what I mean.

It is a struggle for me to remain cool, calm and rational at the best of times. stevmk2
