Are you a ma or a pa ?

If you were a homosexual couple ...
and you decided to adopt ...
How would you want your child to call you ...
Would it be two mothers or two fathers ..
or would one of you be a mother and the other the father ...
or would the child call you by your first name ..

If I were lesbian I would like to be called Mrs Ploppy. Not sure what my partner would want.

Well you are a lesbian .. you always tell me you love women ..
You do know you didn't have to change your gender ..
Men can adopt as well Mr Ploppy ..
so would you want to be the mother or the father ..
or would your male partner be the father and you the mother ..

I don't mind either way. We might toss a coin or perhaps let the children decide.

OMG .. If the parents can't decide what role model they will be ...
how the heck will the children develop properly ...
I feel a decision like that .. should not be handle so lightly ..
a toss of a coin .. is definitely not the way to go ...

I think both partners should be MaPas or is that PaMas or maybe just mummy bear and daddy bear?

Our friends who have adopted are daddy and dad seems to work fine, think the ladies my husband work with are Mummy Teresa and Mummy Jenny which again seems to work quite well.

Re: Are you a ma or a pa ?

I think it is down to each couple to decide what they think is most appropriate for them.
If I were to be in that situation and I won't be I would say mummy for same sex female couples and daddy for males.

The same sex couples I know have older adopted children and they use Christian names.

Yes I guess it depends on ages, the children we know are very young (under 5).

Re: Are you a ma or a pa ?

Im not gay but my eldset son calls his father Homer and me Parent..

We answer the phone
me; hello child
him; hallo parent

I wouldnt mind what my child called me as long as they were respectful.
Nowadays if I go to a pub with my son I do remind him he can call me by my first name.
