So they are ruled by luck then, which is whether they have the type of pitch they are used to or not?
If what you say is true then it defies belief that they can't afford to water a bit of grass back home to train on which replicates English pitches and vice versa the England team to dry out a pitch.....

No, nothing to do with luck at all as I posted , down to what the players face every day in league games which cannot be reproduced with a hose pipe. Times have changed and so has cricket with one day matches and big money. Reason we have no real fast bowlers and a glut of spin bowlers. Reason the current crop of good batsmen are not fully top class batsmen.
Like the game I was All England Champion at, a good player could play on all surfaces with learnt skill. Now surfaces have been made all the same and perfect, so average players are made to all look good.
