Finished almost

Got the last bit of uniform for Grace's new school in September, all I have to do now is sew her name tags in and her school badge on her blazer and cape. So nearing the end now just need her pens, pencils and books etc .......it never ends

Re: Finished almost

It breaks my heart when I read stories such as yours.
I was orphaned at fifteen, my mother died when I was eleven and my dad some four years later. My older brothers and sister had their own problems and didn't help me at all.
I had to struggle to earn a living and find and pay for accommodation, there was no Social Security in those days, but I survived
I think I am a better and certainly a stronger and more resilient person for the experience however. So life can be tough but every cloud has a silver lining, or so they say.

You're right Malcolm - a tough start in life prepares you for the future, makes you a stronger person, maybe not for everyone but many

That brings back many happy memories for me Julie.
Shame that you are doing it under such sad circumstances, but it sounds like Grace is in very good hands.
