Re: What's the attraction?
Unfortunately Morris Dancing is not peculiar to only England. They do it - or should I say perpetrate it.. a bit here as well. Despite my aversion to it, I have tried to be reasonable and made an effort to understand it. From my enquiries, I have learned that it is far from "poofy" in it's spirit. In fact it is..or was..considered quite a manly tradition. THere is so much great dance happening in this country from both indigenous and western culture, an old and somewhat nerdy English tradition with silly hats doesn't hold much attraction to many. And with respects to women being attracted to it; I have to go along with the OFF zeitgeist and say that I, too have never heard any woman express those desires. In fact one girlfriend I had in my university days upon witnessing a Morris demonstration on campus said to me..."If you ever even express a wish to trey that let alone do it..I will stab you in the eye"..Sums it up really.Re: What's the attraction?
