Old compost.

My garden is all lawn & gravel. Consequently I have nowhere to tip all the old compost from the pots I grew my summer bedding plants in. I've just filled my garden bin with dead geranium plants & sunflowers but had to knock all the soil off as we aren't allowed to put soil in the garden bins..

So - what to do with the old compost?

Take it to the recycling tip.

Re: Old compost.

I normally spread it over the flower beds and just fork it in, unless it is full of roots.

Re: Old compost.

If Carol is all lawn and gravel she may not have flower beds, just pots.

Re: Old compost.

Get another bin for it and keep for the following year. Or brush some into the lawn as a top dressing.

In that case, if there is nowhere to spread it, it would have to be a run to the tip then.
