Top dress the lawn, brush it to remove any roots etc, it soon
gets absorbed and feeds the grass!

Carol most people with a garden use spent compost, don't you have neighbours or family with a garden.

Failing that your local recycling centre will take it in with the garden waste.

Yes that's the problem - no flower beds at all.

I can't see myself saving it for next year - it's just a mass of roots. It'll have to go to the tip. I've just spent the morning bagging it up ... Backbreaking work!

Think I may not have so many pots next year!!

I put the rootless stuff in a black bin and use it at the bottom of the pots next year, along with some granular feed.

The rest goes in the bin.
