Singalong...

Just realised that I am really bad at this. On midsummer eve most of the "girls" were singing along on songs from the sixties. Ofcourse I have heard them before, but did I know them by heart after all these years? The answer is NO (in capital letters).
So - my question is - do YOU know any songs from your youth by heart (not including psalms)???

No, I don't know any songs by heart, except one sung by Ruby Murray, "Softly, Softly" as it was my Mum's favourite!!

Re: Singalong...

I usually remember the first couple of lines then la-la the rest!

Strangely though, I can remember all the words to Christmas carols.

Re: Singalong...

I don`t sing -that was bullied out of me when I was 12,but I think I could do if sufficiently lubricated.

And yes I could do many if you got me started.

Well no one told me about her-the band?

I want to spend my life with a girl like you-The Band?

And,my debut at 5

There is a green hill far away

without the city wall

where our dear Lord was crucified

He died to save us all

Re: Singalong...

My parents used to run a concert party and as kids my sisters and I travelled all over Lancashire with it so I learnt a lot of songs which carried on with me into my youth. My interest in the lyrics grew as I got wiser so I do remember a lot of songs from the 50/60's by heart which I have to admit I sing most of the time that I am on the computer.

Re: Singalong...

I remember the words to 'living doll' and 'my boy lollipop' coz I was only a little girl then and I thought they were about a dolly and a lollypop lol My era is from 70's and 80's I'm afraid

And don't I wish I could have another night out clubbing from those days?

Re: Singalong...

words are so much related to times in our lives.

I could sing this today-the words never left me.
