Re: varifocals

I did try Boots Opticians a couple of years ago as they had some frames that I really liked. I had my glasses about two months and one of the lens dropped out. Took them back and they refitted the lens. Meanwhile my hubby also had glasses from Boots ...... the same thing happened to his, the lens dropped out. We both returned to D & A after that!!

Re: varifocals

My daughter picked me up 4 pairs of these specs in Pennys on Saturday, her eyes and mine can use the same glasses. I need them for my close work, reading and the computer and I'm always misplacing pairs or accidently sitting on them so these are extra cheap, look good, and do the business, what more could you want at 3 Euros for two pairs!, beat that specsavers!.

Re: varifocals

I went on to varifocals when I noticed road direction signs not being too clear until I was past the turn off. That was four years ago an in spite of the then negative experiences folks had to my astonishment took to them immediately. I think it also depends on the efficiency of the optician.

Re: varifocals

Our D&A is boots as well and the lens dropped out of mine. I really regret not sticking with the varifocals now because my eyesight is terrible now. I really cant see at all but cant afford varifocals now and I do really blame the optician. Wish I had stuck with specsavers actually.

Re: varifocals

I only use glasses for reading and my computer/laptop, but I have a friend who earlier this year also tried Varifocals - she couldn't get used to them either, took them back and swopped for two pairs.

Re: varifocals

I've been wearing varifocals for years (not all the time though), I would never change them for anything else now.

That's amazing! I didn't realise you could have varifocal contact lenses ...... not that I wear lenses myself.

Re: varifocals

I have worn varifocal's for over a year. I still find them hard at times. I find it hard when driving, fine for looking forward, though looking to the side and reversing the car, not to clever. I can reverse better without the glasses. I am still not to sure about them.
