Re: No dogs in Iran

As I have stated before, I am an atheist. I don't have a problem with anyone's chosen religion. I do have a problem with them imposing it on others.

Don't get me wrong..... I have no objection to individual taxi drivers not wishing to have a dog in their cab. That's fair enough.

My point was that it was the first time I had come across it on religious grounds.

(I always managed to find a taxi who would take the dog, even it meant waiting longer).

It makes you wonder whether they should be allowed to do the job seeing as they are in Britain. What next? Refusing to take non-muslims?

and here is a website to explain further:-

I must admit, I am astounded! Really astounded that cats are considered cleaner than dogs!

Very interesting.

Thanks for the info, Silvertabby.

I wonder if there are any working dogs in Iran....... for shepherding, hunting, etc?
Or even for things like drugs detection at airports.

What do blind people do, if they can't have a guide dog?

Well, I feel that anybody has the right to refuse to take anyone in their car, especially if they don't like dogs, are allergic to dogs, or don't want to risk any mess.

It's the same with any establishment... a shop or a pub, or a restaurant.

As long as they aren't breaking any anti-discrimination laws, they have the right to accept or refuse customers. Nothing wrong with that, imo.

However this ruling is that dogs can't go in cares perse .
So presumably a dog owner can't walk his dog or take it in a car ( even his own ) either .

So do Guide Dogs, but they are not allowed to be turned away!

Re: No dogs in Iran

It is similar in Malaysia only the Chinese have dogs, the Bumiputera and the Bangla's do not.

They are not cruel to them, they don't have dogs to be cruel to.

In Australia dogs are not allowed on public transport unless in a container nor are they allowed in shopping centres or shops (unless they are guide dogs). Nor are pets allowed in National Parks at all.

If you want to be pedantic - it is probably 'in cars per se' - but only if you really want to be pedantic!
