Venezuela president declares emergency, cites U.S., domestic 'threats'

Tis funny when countries ruled by totalitarian regimes attempt to use the US as the reason for unrest in their countries ,when oppressed citizens start to rebel. The US becomes their excuse for declaring marital law and cracking down on dissident leaders. Whilst the US has been at fault on occasion of military adventurism, such as in Iraq, every rebellion in an oppressed society is not the fault of the US.

Interestingly Venezuela, has the largest reserves of oil in the world. You would think they could have exploited that to their advantage to become more stable.

Perhaps they can blame the Spanish who colonized it in 1552 as well.

The oil was used by Chavez, and Maduro for political leverage. Thing is, they not only sold it below the market value, but gave it away to countries like Cuba. Seems like their oil reserves are either dried up or those in power have used it to enrich themselves.

Venezuela has turned into a country where all, I mean all, m political leaders have stolen left and right millions upon millions of dollars. Thats why the country now has no money to feed its people or care for them.

Maduro's master plan to fix the economy is a 3 day work week and as many people on the street say, if the country does not work, the economy can only get worse.

Question for many is, can the Venezuelans push Maduro out in a forced general election and what will the corupt drug traficing military do ?

Seems like they are still top dog for oil reserves.

The drop in oil prices per barrel will have a major effect on their economy as its had on the rest of the world. I do not doubt that they are a badly led country, much can be said the same of other countries.
