We are allready building submarines JBR , but l doubt we would
have the guts to use them when push comes to shove?
Unless america gives us permission first??

Don't bet on that; we're not as subservient as some think.
During the Falklands War for example the UK purposely kept information away from the USA for fear they would leak it.

We used them without America's permission in the Falklands war. Worked a treat!

Re: Treat This As Priority MOD!!

I'm torn between having a realistic defence system, with the ability to fight up there, or out there, as required, or doing nothing and allowing ourselves to be completely taken over by those arriving on our beaches brandishing whatever Bible they support.

We grow up knowing that, if we don't show our teeth, we get bullied.

That applies out there, in the big bad world, where everyone will want whatever resources are left.

Not related to the Brexit section?

Yes it is - Could we have relied on the EU? Answers on a postcard!

That, of course, was the prime example to which I was referring. After their pride and joy, the Belgrano, was sunk the Argentine Navy remained skulking in their ports until the war was over.

It occurs to me that the French fishing boats - and their navy - might also retire to their home ports if we should be bold enough to sink one of those supertrawlers after the end of the year! Of course, Boris isn't Maggie.

One the plus side the American CIA did initiate the repositioning of a communications satellite in order for the British to have voice communications with the UK and the French supplied information about their Exocet missiles..
