Statement by the EU.

Hi

The elected Head of the EU have given us, this morning, a months notice that unless we comply with the Withdrawal Agreement which Boris signed, they will take legal action.

In the on-line news this is what they are saying:-

"The EU Commission Chief has announced plans to take the UK to court over the UK's controversial plans to break international law.
Ursula Von Der Leyen made the announcement at a press conference in Brussels.
The UK Government has signalled it could tear up elements of the package relating to Northern Ireland in the UK Internal Market Bill, which cleared the Commons this week.
But ministers have admitted that the*plan would breach international law - sending shockwaves through the the UK's negotiations with Brussels."

Can't help but suggest that our own MPs, in pointing out our terms were "illegal", have made this more likely.

Maybe there will be fines equivalent to previous membership payments.

Re: Statement by the EU.

OK, so the talks will continue but with a clear case of the EU panicking with so little time left for the EU to bully the UK into concessions. The EU have laughingly taken the moral high ground over the Internal Market Bill. Its all theatre by the EU.

For starters, nothing is going to happen with a legal action threat until we have already left, legal action is going to take at least a couple of years to come to fruition, so my assumption is that the EU are only now realising what it means if we leave without a deal and are grasping at straws.

Let them do their worst! We will be long gone by the time those chancers have their day in court.

I understand that the modifications Boris is making to the WA are
only a 'backstop',remember that? I f certain things come to pass?
And as such it does not break any laws at all, untill and unless
the proposals actually take place?? So it would seem that theEU is
jumping the gun somewhat??
For sure you cant be taken to court for thinking something yet can
you??
What a laugh !!

Re: Statement by the EU.

Hi

I have a different view.

Boris renegotiated the WA.

It is a Legal Document which he changed and then signed on our behalf..

He promised it as a huge win.

Far better than May's Agreement.

Chickens coming home to roost.

He has destroyed our Car Industry.

Rules of origin now apply.

How has he done that? The EU already imposes tariffs on non-UK or EU parts used in vehicles. So what? Is it going to add additional tariffs on UK manufactured vehicles just because they contain parts made in Japan or Turkey? What about parts made in China or Malaysia? Shouldn't we be imposing additional tariffs on EU-made vehicles for the same reasons?

Rules ain't what they used to be.

Oh please! EU has no hesitation in getting around it's 'rules', whenever it suits them.

Calling their bluff could be very interesting.
