Drugs use by date?

I've taken the opportunity of the lockdown to tidy out a few cupboards & drawers

I've found a boxful of CO - CODAMOL tablets with a use by date of 05/2018
Normally I would throw them out, but as at the moment there is a shortage of any kind of pain killers, do you think it would still be OK to use them?

I hardly use pain killers, which explains why they are old, and I'm not thinking of taking them in large quantities, just an odd one or two in the near future if I find i need one

I finished an old prescription of co-codamol a couple of weeks ago. It must have been 6 or 7 years old but still worked.
